Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the chartering department during the vessel’s fixing process.
- Reviews the underperformance claims received by charterers and analyzes weather reports.
- Checks the owner’s LOI/LOA, B/Ls status and draft surveys at loading and discharging ports to ensure that the loading/discharging operations are in line with the legal requirements and the C/P provisions.
- Informs and supports the Insurance department in arranging additional war risk premiums and notify underwriters accordingly.
- Arranges for the payment of various invoices via Navision.
- Assists the bunkering, the technical and the chartering departments, as deemed necessary.
- Controls hire and freight collection and assures everything is received on time and in accordance with charter party terms and conditions.
- Prepares payments for the undisputed balances, issues and monitors invoices concerning hires and/or freights.
- Calculates final results for completed voyages, reports them to management and creates provisional estimations for new fixtures.
- Reviews fleets’ communication and monitors vessels’ voyage and operations and prepares main terms slip for each fixture.
- Develops filling of all cases and enters newly fixed vessels in Navision.
- Cooperates closely with other departments to follow-up or exchange information about financial issues.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor degree in shipping, law or chartering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the post fixtures department of a ship-owning company, preferably with bulkers.
- Awareness of C/P clauses and claims handling.
- Fluency in English.
- MS Office Literacy.
- Constant follow-up of new practices, requirements, regulations, case law and arbitration awards.
